Job Summary
Operate the point-of-sale system to process orders and payments while maintaining order accuracy and cash handling standards. Serve as the welcoming first point of contact for guests, following the Smile, Engage, Name, and Thank You protocol to build rapport with regulars and address concerns professionally. Take full ownership of the counter area and pastry display, ensuring the space remains clean, organized, and stocked while managing third-party delivery and catering dispatch. Collaborate with baristas and front-of-house team members during peak times, supporting runner duties and inventory tasks as needed. Maintain a sanitary work environment in compliance with Department of Health regulations and complete opening, closing, and deep-cleaning tasks. Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, standing for extended periods to deliver warm, efficient service in a fast-paced bakery environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience with the ability to learn and retain menu items, ingredients, and allergy-related information
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a guest-first mindset
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to support others
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and special events based on business needs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks related to the role, including being able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Previous POS and cash handling experience
