Job Summary
Confidently assist customers purchasing or picking up merchandise, accurately process sales orders, and attract new clients while verifying pick tickets and obtaining signatures before releasing materials. Maintain clean, stocked counter displays and uphold security controls, communicating credit risks to the manager and processing returns per policy. Count vendor shipments, stock the warehouse, and pick, document, and pack customer orders using a forklift and other material handling equipment. Handle shipping discrepancies, identify damaged goods, and load/unload trucks while ensuring safety compliance. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years' experience in customer service or counter sales
- 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
- Knowledge of products sold in the Profit Center
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Must be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment
- Must be able to learn to operate and demonstrate hand tools

- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to demonstrate outstanding customer service, verbal communication, and generous listening skills
- Must be able to effectively handle all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to designated employee to handle
- Must be able to identify nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations
- Must be able to load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely
- Must be able to count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material
- Must be able to stock and maintain the warehouse; and pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure
- Must be able to act with a high attention to detail to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction
- Must be able to inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels
- Must be able to ensure security and controls is in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets
- Must be able to maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety. Remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris. Inform immediate supervisor of safety issues
- Must be able to assist co-workers in servicing customers
- Must be able to perform all job functions in accordance with the company's Safety Standards
- Must be able to successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned
- Must be able to perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required
- Must be able to confidently assist customers who purchase and/or pick up merchandise at the Profit Center
- Must be able to accurately process and fill Sales Orders generated at the sales counter

- Must be able to work with the PCM to establish revenue and margin targets
- Must be able to verify the Pick Ticket ship date is the date the material is picked up by the customer, update accordingly, and obtain customer signature before releasing material
- Must be able to provide customers with reliable information regarding product specifications, pricing, and availability
- Must be able to keep the counter area and merchandise displays clean, neat, current, stocked and safely displayed
- Must be able to ensure security and control is upheld at this primary point of customer contact
- Must be able to communicate to the Profit Center Manager and Credit Manager any changes in a customer's business that might cause a credit risk
- Must be able to process cash sale returns and refund paperwork in accordance with Company policy and procedure
- Must be able to inform supervisor of inventory levels or stock depletions that could impact customer service levels
- Must be able to assist co-workers in servicing customers, including answering incoming calls, stocking merchandise in the warehouse, and pulling orders for delivery
- Must be able to be outgoing and value customer service
