Job Summary
Process customer transactions and create detailed sales orders using the company's computer system, tailoring product recommendations and pricing to meet client needs. Coordinate truck deliveries and manage inventory through cycle counts, order picking, and shipping/receiving activities while maintaining a clean, organized workspace. Interact with clients via phone, email, and in-person consultations to ensure exceptional service and accurate order fulfillment. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday with overtime during peak seasons. The position is based on-site at the Tempe, AZ location and requires physical capabilities including lifting up to 75 lbs. Reports directly to the Branch Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer service or sales role
- Experience in managing customer relationships with a focus on customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and internet navigation
- Experience or familiarity with point-of-sale systems and order entry procedures
- Demonstrated ability for clear and courteous communication in person, over the phone, and via email
- Effective problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in responding to customer inquiries and issues
- Capability to handle physical demands, including lifting up to 75 lbs regularly, and 50 lbs on a repetitive basis
- Ability to work in varied conditions, including warehouses and outdoor environments
- Honest, respectful, and courteous demeanor towards all customers and colleagues
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed during the peak season
- Capability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Previous experience with irrigation or landscaping products
- Forklift operation experience
- Demonstrated capability to drive sales outcomes and achieve personal and team goals through excellent customer service and product knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of landscaping materials, tools, and trends
- Familiar with the inventory processes, including cycle counts and stock replenishment
- Advanced skills in utilizing retail point-of-sale systems and common software applications
- Current forklift certification
- CPR and First Aid Certification
