Counter Sales Representative

Job Summary
Greet customers and contractors, answer inquiries about merchandise, pricing, and promotions, and process sales using the cash register. Receive payments via cash, check, credit cards, or vouchers, then create accurate invoices, work orders, and sales tickets. Facilitate product selection for showroom customers, code orders into the computer system, and issue refunds with manager approval. Maintain showroom appearance, clean displays and products, manage stock levels, and assist with physical inventory. Perform other duties as assigned while adhering to safety policies and company standards. Work Saturday and evening schedules as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of building material knowledge and sales experience
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Maintenance of professional demeanor
- Detail oriented
- Highly observant
- Ability to multi-task
- Good mathematic skills
- Ability to use a calculator and computers
- Knowledge of building materials, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry
- Good interpersonal and customer relations skills
- Vendor knowledge
- Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office products and Trend system
- Ability to drive and walk throughout yards, plants and offices
- Ability to work Saturday and evening schedules as required
