Job Summary
Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly with purchases, processing orders, and handling returns. Drive electrical distribution sales for the counter business while developing new and existing customer relationships. Stay informed on product knowledge and inform management of safety hazards or escalated customer situations. Assist with daily restocking, showroom maintenance, and keeping the counter clean and organized. Perform other duties as assigned, including inside sales, filling orders, receiving, and shipping material. Join the PLATT team in Petaluma, CA, supporting the branch's operational and sales goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience
- Previous branch experience
- Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment
- Electrical product knowledge and experience, including lighting, switchgear, controls, and electrical commodities
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of electrical distribution or other electrical sales environments
- Familiarity with automated order entry systems & PCs running Windows-based software
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate on all levels within internal and external groups
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good team player
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to type on a computer keyboard
- Great attitude
- Desire to improve electrical product knowledge
