Job Summary
Counter Sales Representative in San Diego, CA, providing excellent customer service by assisting customers with purchases and returns, processing orders, and stocking/showroom maintenance. Drives electrical distribution sales, develops new and existing customer relationships, stays informed on product knowledge, and supports the branch team with duties such as receiving, shipping, and inventory. May perform additional branch tasks as needed, including inside sales and equipment handling. Requires facilitating effective communication with customers and internal teams, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and service standards.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience preferred
- Previous branch experience preferred
- Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred
- High School or GED - Required
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Electrical product knowledge and experience, including lighting, switchgear, controls, and electrical commodities preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of electrical distribution or other electrical sales environments preferred
- Familiarity with automated order entry systems & PCs running Windows-based software preferred
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate on all levels within internal and external groups
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good team player
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to type on a computer keyboard
- Great attitude
