Job Summary
Demonstrate exceptional customer service to walk-in, phone, and will-call customers by processing orders, quoting prices, and entering data into the system. Pull orders as required, communicate product features and warranty policies, and provide technical advice to troubleshoot and resolve customer problems. Identify related products and promotions to upsell, while accurately preparing quotes and assisting with product selection. Maintain inventory management standards and perform other duties as assigned. This role supports White Cap's mission to supply professional contractors with building materials, tools, and safety products across North America.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service to our walk-in, phone, and will call customers
- Processes orders, quotes prices, enters orders into the system and provides order information to customers
- Pulls orders as required
- Communicates product features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers
- Demonstrates knowledge of products and their applications (provides technical advice, troubleshoots, and helps resolve customers' problems)
- Upsells by identifying related products, add-on extensions, and informing customers of product promotions
- Ability to lift and move products (often up to 50 lbs.)
- Basic math skills for pricing, measurements, and order calculations
- Ability to use computers, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and inventory software
- Attention to detail
- Ability to accurately process orders, prepare quotes, and assist customers with product selection
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated success providing excellent customer service
- Experience with sales order computer software, preferably Oracle
- Spanish language proficiency
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Previous experience in construction supply, building materials, hardware, plumbing, electrical, roofing, or related industries is a plus
- Inventory management and purchasing experience
- knowledge of warehouse operations
