Job Summary
Greet customers in-store and over the phone, handling multiple requests simultaneously while providing HVAC/R technical support, product recommendations, and special ordering. Assist with system troubleshooting, resolve disputes, and process transactions including quotes, warranties, and pick/pack orders. Research product availability across branches and distribution centers to coordinate transportation for out-of-stock items. Maintain showroom cleanliness, conduct inventory counts, and ensure profitability by following pricing structures and sales targets. Safeguard cash and physical assets, perform warehouse duties, and communicate inventory or demand changes to management. Work scheduled shifts to support high-quality customer service and team objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 1+ years of related experience and/or training in a wholesale/retail environment
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- front line customer service experience
- General knowledge of HVAC/R products, concepts, and the industry as a whole
- ability to learn on the job
- Demonstrated understanding and application of effective customer service techniques
- ability to run a point-of-sale terminal
- ability to research HVAC/R items
- ability to help prepare required sales and customer reports
- Proficiency with computers to look up and cross-reference parts/equipment
- capacity to learn new software
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products
- Skill in operation of power equipment, including forklift
- ability to learn on the job (power equipment)
- Ability to work independently and with teams
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage, and prioritize multiple projects while working under pressure
- Displays a sense of urgency when needed
