Job Summary
Greet and acknowledge all customers promptly while assisting with product selection, order entry, pricing, and availability. Process sales transactions, returns, credits, and payments through the POS system, maintaining proper cash handling and media accountability. Maintain working knowledge of current products, vendor offerings, promotions, and seasonal merchandise to support accurate inventory levels and merchandising standards. Receive, stock, rotate, and replenish merchandise while reporting discrepancies or shortages to store management. Communicate customer feedback, special requests, and service issues to management in a timely manner. Work collaboratively with yard staff and delivery teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and smooth daily operations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years of retail or counter sales experience
- Lumber, building materials, or construction industry knowledge
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including POS systems and inventory software
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of retail or counter sales experience preferred
- Lumber, building materials, or construction industry knowledge strongly preferred
