Job Summary
Counselor position (YCP Virtual) in Athens, GA supporting Student Services, with duties spanning academic guidance, enrollment, and postsecondary planning. Responsibilities include attending Student Services meetings, coordinating with mentors and staff, referrals to School Social Worker, organizing events (Senior Night, College Night, Career Night, Dual Enrollment Night, FAFSA and Financial Aid workshops), conducting orientation, evaluating transcripts and graduation requirements, maintaining graduation progress tracking, aiding students with postsecondary options, financial aid access, and mental-health support in crisis situations. Requires valid Georgia School Counselor certificate, strong knowledge of high school counseling and teen/young adult mental health, daytime hours, independent task execution, and collaborative communication with site teams and colleges. Proficiency with Infinite Campus data and dual enrollment coordination is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Georgia School Counselor certificate
- Working knowledge of high school counseling
- High school experience preferred
- Excellent knowledge of mental health concerns of teenagers and young adults
- Ability to take direction and perform tasks independently
- Daytime hours required
