Job Summary
Counselor at Urbandale High School responsible for providing social/emotional support and guidance to students, delivering crisis and small-group counseling, advising on academic, personal/social, and career planning, coordinating student intake and orientation, supporting 504 plans and collaboration with district partners, and maintaining knowledge of Iowa Teaching Standards and related regulations; role emphasizes collaboration with parents, teachers, administrators, and the community to foster positive student development and readiness for college and career.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Board of Educational Examiners approved alternative
- Master's Degree in Counseling
- Appropriate BOEE licensure
- Classroom teaching experience required; previous experience as a school counselor preferred
