Job Summary
Counselor provides individual and group chemical dependency treatment to men and women in the Siena Francis Miracles Treatment Program, conducting sessions, lectures, clinical reviews, and treatment-team staffing under the Program Manager. Responsibilities include counseling, trauma-informed and strength-based collaboration with clients and treatment team, monitoring treatment involvement, documenting in HMIS, conducting assessments, leading lectures, gathering collateral information, supporting program policies/procedures, and contributing to grant funding efforts. Requires an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred) and Nebraska licensure for LADC/PLADC or LMHP/PLMHP or LIMHP/PLIMP; prior substance-abuse treatment experience; and strong communication, computer and interpersonal skills; office-based work in Omaha, NE with E-Verify participation and compliance with licensing standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Nebraska Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) / Provisional Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (PLADC) or Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) / Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) or Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) / Provisional Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (PLIMP)
- Experience working in the areas of substance abuse
- Ability to implement treatment and educational programs
- Ability to incorporate diversity and culturally sensitivity to programs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic working knowledge of Windows (MSWord, Excel and publisher). Good working knowledge of e-mail and Internet
- Positive attitude; energetic; dedicated to helping the homeless and/or chemically dependent
