Job Summary
Counselor I in a residential substance use treatment program provides individual, group, and experiential therapy, develops and updates treatment plans, monitors client progress notes, and documents daily clinical progress. The role involves facilitating group therapy, coordinating with the treatment team, ensuring safety and a therapeutic environment, monitoring urine drug screens, and completing supervision sessions with the Clinical Director. Requires a Master's degree and licensed or license-eligible status, plus at least one year of supervised experience in a Substance Use Disorder/Mental Health setting, with CADC preferred but not required. Strong teamwork and adherence to DSAMH and CARF standards are emphasized.
