Job Summary
Ensure patient databases, treatment plans, and progress notes are completed in accordance with federal and state standards. Assess and place patients according to treatment phases, provide orientation on program objectives and rules, and counsel individuals in crisis or regarding noncompliance. Facilitate group counseling sessions, conduct urine/swab drug screenings with proper chain of custody, and arrange community referrals. Perform treatment plan reviews, participate in case conferences, and submit monthly statistical reports. Complete intakes, secure necessary patient documentation, and attend scheduled supervisions and team meetings. Submit internal and external correspondence for supervisor review.
Required Qualifications
- Counselor I
- Associate's Degree
- CAAC (Certified Associate Addiction Counselor)
- Substance abuse counselors in training who are not CADC shall be enrolled in courses leading to certification as a CADC
- become credentialed within three years of the date of hire by the facility
- semiannual review of progress while employed at the facility
- Master's Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in human services) or another related field
- includes a practicum in a health or human service agency
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field
- 1 year of clinical experience
- Counselor II
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- CADC
- Counselor III (min requirements for consideration)
- Master's degree
- CAADC
- LCSW
- LPC
- LSW
