Job Summary
Conduct patient intakes, administer biopsychosocial assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans while monitoring relapse indicators and flagging high-risk conditions to medical leadership. Provide individual and group counseling utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to address clinical needs, schedule sessions, and document entries in compliance with federal and state regulations. Engage in community outreach, collect research data, observe urine sample collection, and attend mandatory training and case conferences. Work full-time Monday through Friday from 5am to 1:30 pm as part of a team transforming lives through evidence-based addiction treatment services.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a relevant field
- Registration/credentials necessary to provide counseling services to the patient population
- Bachelor's degree or High school diploma/GED with 75% certification education (Kern County requirement)
- Counselor registration/certification by a 'Certifying Organization' recognized by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs
- Proof of registration by a California Alcohol and Drug Program certifying body
- 2-5 years of experience OR Master level
- Certification as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor with a CA approved certification agency
- Current credentials as licensed or license-eligible with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or the Board of Psychology
- Board requirements to be able to practice including receiving the necessary amount of clinical supervision by a Board approved supervisor
- Proof of licensure or certification by a State approved regulatory agency
