Job Summary
Provide individual mental health services and complete biopsychosocial assessments with ORU students. Deliver therapy sessions and connect students in crisis with outpatient or inpatient mental health agencies as needed. Guide clients in a calm, professional manner toward healthier choices without judgment while assessing acuity to determine treatment recommendations. Coordinate intervention strategies, outreach, referrals, and services, including handling time-sensitive calls and emails during off-hours. Organize patient data and maintain virtual files in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA policies. Maintain a professional demeanor in all situations, including emergencies, and sustain a network of specialists for ongoing care referrals.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in a counseling related field
- Actively licensed in Oklahoma as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT or under supervision
- A minimum of two (2) years experience working in mental health assessment, case management, or crisis intervention
- Ability to assess acuity level of clients to determine appropriate treatment recommendations
- Demonstrate skilled judgement and discretion regarding case decisions
- Willingness to seek consultation and to work collaboratively with the counseling team and other pertinent university personnel
- Ability to guide a patient in a calm, professional manner toward making healthier choices without rendering judgment
- People skills: the ability to relate to a variety of personality types in people from all walks of life
- Organizational skills
- Compassionate listening skills
- Compliance with protected health information as mandated by HIPPA and/or ORU policy and procedures
- Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policy and its procedures and confidentiality regarding internally sensitive information
- Transcripts of all college and university coursework
