Job Summary
Provides psychological counseling and crisis intervention for students; implements appropriate assessments and clinical interventions; facilitates group workshops, therapy, and series as assigned to contribute to outreach goals; builds relationships with campus community to reduce stigma and increase help/service seeking; completes timely documentation in the EHR according to Counseling policies; facilitates skills and process trainings for students and employees as assigned; consults with Director and Counseling staff around risk management, referrals, confidentiality, and crisis management support; participates in Counselor on-call rotation; offers a full-time, benefits-eligible role with a hiring range of $67,120 - $78,522 per year; based onsite in Middlebury, VT; requires Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related clinical field with current or eligible Vermont licensure within 6 months; minimum 2 years of experience; commitment to multicultural approaches to clinical care; willingness to travel cross-campus and cross-town; schedule flexibility including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays; background check and references required.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree required in counseling, psychology, social work, or related clinical field with current, or eligible to obtain within 6 months, Vermont licensure.
- 2 years of experience (graduate placements/internships may count toward prerequisite)
- Knowledge of the social, psychological, and physical developmental stages of students
- Commitment to multicultural approaches to clinical care
- Commitment to addressing intersections of multiple identities and their related health outcomes
- Commitment to collaboration with clinical and administrative staff to support student success
- Regularly operates $computer and other office productivity tools; willing to travel cross-campus and cross-town; schedule flexibility (early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Clinical experience in assessment, treatment planning, shared decision-making, and crisis response
- Master’s degree in related field and Vermont licensure or eligible within 6 months
