Job Summary
The Middle School Counselor is responsible for coordinating and delivering a comprehensive school counseling program including academic advisement, personal/social counseling, and career development, with collaboration across administrators, teachers, parents, and community agencies. Responsibilities include individual, small group, and large group counseling; interpreting cognitive and achievement records for educational planning; crisis counseling and student mental health support; facilitating parent involvement and conferences; helping students develop self-understanding and interpersonal skills; and providing information about community resources. The role requires traveling to various school sites as needed and adherence to district policies and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Florida Professional Educator Certificate: Guidance and Counseling (Grades PK-12) is required.
