Counselor (McDonald)

Counselor at Mesquite ISD responsible for supporting students' personal, academic, and career development through responsive services, guidance and individual planning. Primary duties include providing individual and group counseling, leading developmentally appropriate guidance activities, planning orientation and scheduling for students, supporting teachers and parents, coordinating with the school nurse on health-related matters, assisting with special education referrals and ARD processes, serving as a 504 Case Manager, helping students with the financial aid and college admission processes, and delivering professional development to campus staff on topics such as recognizing and reporting child abuse, Section 504, and suicide prevention. Requires Counselor Certification and a Master’s Degree with Texas Teacher Certification.
