Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and implement individual and group counseling programs for assigned students in compliance with government directives. Conduct personal interviews and assessments to analyze student needs, maintain individual folders, and provide direct aid for personal problems, sickness, or emergencies. Deliver continuous educational, social, and adjustment counseling on an individual and group basis while recommending program modifications. Interpret progress in development programs, coordinate problem cases, and maintain up-to-date documentation using CIS and other systems. Recommend medical or psychiatric evaluations for emotional issues, evaluate results, and refer students to transfers, extensions, or college placement as needed. Full-time, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree including 15 semester hours in social services related instruction
- one (1) year experience in counseling or related field
- Experience with youth
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- computer proficiency
- Valid driver's license
- an acceptable driving record
