Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and implement individual and group counseling programs for assigned students while reviewing background files and conducting interviews to analyze needs. Initiate and maintain student folders with timely case note entries, providing direct aid for personal needs, emergencies, and AWOL retrieval. Deliver continuous educational, career, and social adjustment counseling; conduct progress evaluations and recommend program modifications. Chair assessment teams, facilitate Career Success Standards sessions, and maintain family contact utilizing community resources. Regularly visit training areas to evaluate student progress and support employability programs while enforcing safety policies and zero tolerance rules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 15 semester hours in social services related instruction
- one year experience in counseling or related field
- Experience with youth
- excellent written and verbal communications skills
- computer proficiency
- Valid driver's license
- an acceptable driving record
- Regular and predictable attendance
