Job Summary
Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment for substance use and mental health disorders by performing essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake, assessment, evaluation, intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting, and record keeping. Participate in program, administrative, and clinical committees as assigned while relating effectively with staff, clients, and community, upholding confidentiality requirements. Work full-time Tuesdays through Saturdays from 12am to 8:30am at Helio Health's Binghamton Inpatient Detox program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- demonstrated steady progress towards QHP status
- active enrolment in CASAC
- Associate's or Bachelor's level Human Services program
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services
- CASAC-T
- One year counseling/human services experience
- Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of addiction/recovery
- Knowledge of behavioral health
- Knowledge of self-help group process
- Knowledge of principles of counseling
- Proficiency with basic computer applications
Desired Qualifications
- QHP status includes active enrolment in CASAC or Associate's or Bachelor's level Human Services program
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services with CASAC-T preferred
- One year counseling/human services experience preferred
