Job Summary
Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment for substance use and mental health disorders. Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake, assessment, evaluation, intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting, and record keeping. Participate in program, administrative, and clinical committees as assigned while relating effectively with staff, clients, and the community. Work full-time on a days shift (Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat) out of the Binghamton Inpatient Detox program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- demonstrated steady progress towards QHP status
- active enrolment in CASAC
- Associate's or Bachelor's level Human Services program
- Knowledge of addiction/recovery
- Knowledge of behavioral health
- Knowledge of self-help group process
- Knowledge of principles of counseling
- Proficiency with basic computer applications
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services with CASAC-T
- One year counseling/human services experience
