Job Summary
Paid counselor internship focused on care for patients in opioid-use-disorder treatment. Work with a multidisciplinary team to observe patient progress, conduct individual and group counseling, participate in direct patient contact hours, identify and address clinical/case-management needs, report abuses and grievances, participate in new patient orientation, and educate patients on treatment and recovery. Ensure compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA, and adhere to CMGLP policies and procedures. Requires current college enrollment for internship credit and progression toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree, with prior coursework in substance abuse theories/practices encouraged; background check and professional standards adherence required.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university within a program that offers course credit for internships
- Intern must be in the process of pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree within a specific program and/or state requirements
- Candidates must meet with their Internship Supervisor as required by their program
- Interns must clear a security background check and follow company policies and procedures
- Candidates must follow all ethical and professional standards
- Candidates must follow CMGLP policy and procedures
