Job Summary
Coordinate individualized case management, group therapy, and bio-psychosocial assessment services for clients within the facility. Maintain communication with referral sources and act as a liaison with the UR Department on all aspects of client care. Demonstrate expertise in developing client resources, vocational counseling, discharge planning, and placement while attending weekly 1:1 supervision. This role supports the team's mission to provide quality, compassionate, and innovative care to adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders, empowering patients and families to achieve recovery and optimal wellness.
Required Qualifications
- Studying for Drug & Alcohol counseling certification from an accredited institution.
- 2 years' experience working in a substance abuse environment.
- Ability to work effectively with people and aid them in adjusting to their specific problems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, family members, and other members of staff.
- Knowledge and experiences in running groups, meetings and/or activities.
- Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
- Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays and have flexible hours
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time
