Job Summary
As a Registered/Certified Substance Abuse Counselor III, deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming within the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT) in an in-prison facility. Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum, conduct individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans, and document progress and service delivery in ARMS. Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institutions, and contracted staff; maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional demeanor while supporting the inmate population and applying knowledge of substance abuse causes and effects. This is a full-time, on-site role with duties including class facilitation, participant engagement, and documentation, in addition to other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Certified as an AOD Counselor with an organization approved by DHCS
- one year of full-time experience providing certified AOD counseling services
