Job Summary
The Counselor III works within an interdisciplinary team to implement and monitor treatment and coordinate care for residents in a residential treatment facility. Responsibilities include providing clinical interventions, completing assessments and treatment plans, offering individual and group therapy, and ensuring continuity of care with community stakeholders. The position requires a Master’s degree in a behavioral science, clinical experience, and a QMHP credential. Key skills include proficiency in EMR software and conducting mental health assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a behavioral science field from an accredited college or university
- Competencies outlined in the Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) to become credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
- Current and in compliance certification as per OAR’s
Desired Qualifications
- CADC credential (preferred)
- Clinical experience providing inpatient or outpatient adult mental health services (preferred)
- Proficient in operating computer hardware and software (including EMR software)
- Ability to conduct a Mental Status assessment and formulate a diagnosis according to the DSM
- Understanding of recovery model, motivational interviewing, and strength-based case management
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass DMV check
- Must be CPR/First Aid certified and keep certification current
