Job Summary
Assess clients for substance abuse and mental health evaluations, make treatment recommendations, and maintain case records. Perform case management by coordinating additional services and lead group counseling sessions, providing both individual and family counseling to program clients. Provide supervision and coordinate the work of other staff members as delegated by the Clinical Supervisor. Act as a resource for staff regarding treatment modalities and techniques, and represent the Agency in matters of petition for involuntary treatment. Requires a Master's Degree in Human Services and at least one year of experience in a mental health treatment setting.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in field related to Human Services, which include but not limited to: Social Work; Clinical Psychology; Counseling; Rehabilitative Counseling; Counseling Education; Education; Criminal Justice; or Ministry from an accredited college or university
- at least one (1) year full-time experience in a mental health and/or addictions treatment setting
- Certification as an Addictions Professional (CAP) by the Certification Board for Addiction Professionals of Florida
- extensive knowledge of all aspects of addictions and/or mental health treatment and rehabilitation including familiarity with various models of treatment
- understanding of various therapeutic techniques and approaches
- the ability to identify and utilize the most effective form of treatment with each client
- strong knowledge base regarding the causes, symptoms, and progression of substance abuse and/or mental health problems
Desired Qualifications
- A certification as an Addictions Professional (CAP) by the Certification Board for Addiction Professionals of Florida. Is preferred
