Counselor II provides mental health and substance abuse treatment services to adults and families in compliance with Alabama law, requiring a Bachelor's degree, relevant licensure, and skills in various counseling methods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Community, Rehabilitation, or Pastoral Counseling, Family Therapy, or another behavioral health area that requires equivalent clinical course work
- Licensed in the State of Alabama as a Bachelor Level Social Worker or holds a substance abuse counselor certification credential
- If a recovering person, must have a minimum of two (2) years of continuous sobriety
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid
- Unrestricted, unexpired State of Alabama driver's license
Additional Requirements
- Must achieve and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of continuous sobriety if a recovering person
