Job Summary
Conduct individual, group, and crisis intervention counseling services with direct supervision while managing case management, assessments, and comprehensive treatment plan development. Maintain persons served file documentation, coordinate discharge planning, and handle written and verbal communications with internal and external sources. Monitor abstinence through urine sample collection in compliance with safety regulations and prepare necessary written reports. Serve as on-call counselor during assigned periods and represent the treatment program with referral sources and inter-agency committees. Obtain Substance Abuse Counselor certification within six months and travel both within and outside the service area.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in a human service related field with a CADC certification
- Bachelor's Degree in a human service related field
- Valid training certification as a mandatory reporter of child abuse
- Valid driving license
- Proof of auto insurance
- Moderate level computer knowledge and experience
- Ability to use existing program software applications with minimal training
- Ability to perform simple maintenance to keep computers operational
- Ability to speak comfortably and effectively one-to-one or in group settings
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Good listening skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret most complex documents
- Ability to respond effectively to customer/staff complaints
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of written rules and regulations
