Counselor I - Full Time

Job Summary
Provide individual, group, and family counseling while conducting clinical assessments and treatment planning for adult patients. Facilitate therapeutic groups, manage a full patient caseload, and intervene in crisis situations to deescalate and resolve conflicts. Participate in daily treatment team meetings, communicate with the UR department and other staff, and ensure all documentation adheres to licensure and accreditation standards. Maintain confidentiality under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines while monitoring the therapeutic milieu. Requires CADC-I certification, a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, and experience with substance abuse and mental health. Must work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Sciences Required (social work, counseling or psychology)
- CADC- I
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a behavioral healthcare field strongly preferred
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a behavioral healthcare field strongly preferred
- Experience working with substance abuse, addictions, mental health, cognitive behavior treatment and motivational interviewing
- Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record software and documentation
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria
- Ability to read, write and interpret written information, type documentation, present information to groups and participate in meetings
- Working knowledge of Microsoft and Google
