Counselor - Grand Avenue

Counselor position at Progress program in San Rafael, CA, under supervision of the Assistant Director or Program Director. Responsibilities include conducting intake interviews, orienting new clients, crisis intervention, emergency response, developing and implementing treatment plans with client participation, documenting progress, discharge planning, leading or co-leading group sessions, coordinating client care, monitoring medications, meal planning and participation, attending staff meetings and supervision, and performing household tasks as needed. Requires Bachelor's degree in a mental health field (or experience in lieu of degree), experience in residential treatment or knowledge of social rehabilitation preferred, at least one year in a community mental health program preferred, strong communication skills, and ongoing clearance with the California DSS. Overnight shifts may be required; must maintain First Aid/CPR certification and comply with regulations and agency policies.
