Job Summary
Plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive program of guidance to the assigned campus, providing a proactive developmental guidance program to encourage all students to maximize personal growth and development. Responsibilities include developing and delivering a campus guidance curriculum, conducting individual planning and counseling, providing responsive services, supporting system-wide guidance initiatives, maintaining confidentiality of student assessments, collaborating with staff and community partners, scheduling and presenting guidance lessons, and adhering to professional and ethical standards in school counseling.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or current enrollment in program leading to Master’s degree and full counselor certification or
- Valid Texas Counseling certificate
- Two years teaching experience
- Evidence of leadership skills, especially in diverse populations and at-risk students
- Collaborate with diverse staff and community members in the delivery of programs and services to at-risk students
- Working knowledge of state codes, governing guidance and counseling services
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills in working with internet and software programs
- Working skills in Microsoft Office and Excel
