Counselor, Elem School

Counselor, Elementary School coordinates and implements the school's counseling services program to include academic advisement, developmental guidance, career development, and parent/community involvement. Provides an ongoing program of individual, small group, and large group counseling in social/personal development, academic advisement, and career awareness per national standards. Collaborates with administrators, teachers, district personnel, parents, and community agencies to meet counseling and educational planning needs of elementary students; interprets student records and assessments for planning; provides preventive and responsive services including crisis counseling and student mental health support; facilitates parent involvement in education and participates in conferences; assists students in self-understanding and interpersonal skills; connects students to community resources; may perform other duties as assigned.
