Job Summary
Conduct regular alcohol and drug abuse counseling sessions, group sessions, and intake services while orienting patients to treatment operations. Develop and revise patient treatment plans, collect comprehensive social and vocational information, and make appropriate referrals with necessary follow-ups. Provide crisis intervention, coordinate care with community providers, and implement new programs under caseload management guidance. Deliver in-service training to staff, adhere to all regulatory and accrediting agency standards, and participate in required conferences and public relations activities. Perform OBOT services and report work-related issues immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Must be registered or willing to be with the NCASPPB
- Must have a bachelor's in human services or related field
- Must be able to react quickly and make effective decisions
- Ability to make decisions and use proper judgment with confidential and sensitive issues
- Ability to deal appropriately with patient and team members in stressful or other undesirable situations and to seek direction from supervisors when necessary
- Ability to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding of human behavior to show potential for rehabilitating drug dependent patients
- Knowledge of the substance abuse population, treatment planning and the field of human social services to work toward the rehabilitation of the patient community
- Compliance with federal and state regulations regarding certification, licensure, and degree
Desired Qualifications
- CADC, CADC-I, LCAS or LCAS-A preferred
- Experience in behavioral health preferred, not required
