Job Summary
Plan, organize, and oversee daily schedules for youth in indoor and outdoor after-school recreational settings. Provide direct leadership and supervision to assigned BASE programs while implementing developmentally appropriate activities according to established schedules. Participate in scheduled daily activities with program participants, assist in preparing reports and records, and maintain clean, organized areas. Accompany participants on field trips, manage supply inventory, and transport supplies using a park district vehicle. Establish cooperative relationships with co-workers and parents, attend departmental meetings and training sessions, and conduct self according to district policies. Maintain a valid driver's license and First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Required Qualifications
- Junior in high school or higher grade level
- High school diploma
- Valid driver's license
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification within one (1) year
- Working with youth
- Supervision of groups of youth in a recreational setting
- General knowledge of recreation, parks, and leisure service field
- General knowledge of day camp and after-school programs and services
- General knowledge of developmentally appropriate activities for youth in a recreational environment
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma preferred
- Some college desired
- Supervision of groups of youth in a recreational setting preferred
- Valid driver's license preferred if not including transportation
