Job Summary
Maintain facility and resident files, transcribe correspondence, and answer all telephone calls during your shift. Provide direct care services to residents by monitoring medication, assisting with activities of daily living such as budgeting and grooming, and implementing treatment goals. Monitor resident progress through observation and documentation while participating in activities during staff shortages. Drive the facility vehicle when needed and attend staff meetings that may require travel to other sites. Provide crisis intervention as required and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Required Qualifications
- New York State driver's license
- Ability to lift/carry packages and boxes of supplies; as well as clients if necessary
- Ability to read typed and written correspondence, clinical notes, communication log, staff meeting minutes, doctors orders, fire drill logs
- Ability to write
- Ability to use telephone
- Ability to count/add/subtract and manage money
- Ability to see, hear and observe residents
- Ability to perform manual tasks
- Ability to climb and descend stairs
- Ability to travel
- Ability to board agency vehicles
- Ability to utilize public transportation (bus, subway)
- Ability to use telephone to make and receive calls
- Ability to participate in AMAP, CPR, and First Aid training
- Ability to work flexible schedule
- Ability to drive facility vehicle when the need arises
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency diploma
- Secretarial experience
- Experience working with MH population
- Experience in direct care
