Job Summary
Counseling Teacher Assistant/Bus Driver at St. Stephens High School combines school guidance-office support with bus-transport duties. Responsibilities include screening callers, handling messages, maintaining confidentiality, typing, proofreading and using Word Perfect, opening and distributing mail, maintaining guidance records, and supporting the guidance department; also driving to transport students, following traffic rules, performing pre-checks, monitoring student behavior, ensuring safety, and adhering to district procedures. Requires a High School Diploma and coursework/experience as detailed in the qualifications; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Two years of experience working with children preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job functions
- Minimum of 48 hours of college level coursework. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required or WorkKeys Certification including Business Writing
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with parents, schools, community and district office personnel
- Experience using the computer
- Willingness to undergo further training as required
