Job Summary
This Counseling Student Intern Program offers opportunities for Master’s-level students to fulfill practicum requirements by shadowing therapy sessions, participating in co-therapy, and providing supervised counseling services. Interns will work with clients addressing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and family conflict. The role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to professional ethics, and a willingness to learn evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Professional Counseling Psychology degree at FIU
- Strong interest in learning evidence-based approaches for a variety of mental health concerns
- Interest in working with children, teens, families, and parenting-related concerns
- Strong ethical and professional boundaries
- Teachable, motivated, and open to feedback
- Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions
- Ability to commit to at least one evening each week for client appointments to support direct hour requirements
