Job Summary
Counseling Assistant at GOAL High School provides on-site support to the counseling department and school staff, maintaining student records and transcripts, preparing reports, and supplying resources to parents and students to support academic, postsecondary, and social/emotional development. The role involves collaborating with counselors to implement a comprehensive school counseling program, assisting with academic advisement, postsecondary readiness, and access to college, military, and trade-school resources. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and willingness to travel regionally are essential; on-site presence is required with potential limited virtual work based on site needs. Required Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent (e.g., the GED)
- Associate degree preferred
- Bachelor’s degree and training in Education, Social Work, or related field preferred
- Must reside in Colorado
- Must Possess a valid Driver's License
- Ability to travel regionally and transport students as required
- Two years of experience working with youth preferred
- Two years of experience working with students in a secondary school or school system preferred
- Experience working with at-risk youth preferred
- Bilingual preferred but not required
