Job Summary
Counsel/Senior Counsel on Chevron’s SI&IL team provides strategic legal guidance to Chevron’s Corporate Strategy function on climate, sustainability disclosures, and other governance matters. Responsibilities include advising on disclosures and advocacy across multiple jurisdictions, developing briefing papers for governance forums and executive leadership, counseling on risk management for mandatory disclosures, monitoring litigation and enforcement trends, coordinating with outside counsel, and collaborating with business partners and internal clients to support enterprise strategy and complex litigation initiatives in the oil and gas industry.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate
- Bachelor’s degree
- Admission to practice law in at least one state or the District of Columbia
- Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly developed organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently, but within a team-focused environment
