Job Summary
Negotiate and draft design, construction, and related consulting contracts, purchase orders, and bid solicitations. Assist in responding to project issues, including change order requests, delay claims, and defective work situations, while coordinating with outside counsel as needed. Provide advice on indemnity clauses, guarantees, and insurance requirements, and support central and international offices by reviewing vendor and services agreements. Review comments on contracts and prepare related correspondence for RFPs. This role requires a J.D. degree, two or more years of relevant legal experience in construction transactions, and the ability to travel periodically.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the United States
- Two or more years of relevant legal experience in general real real transactions, construction transactions or construction litigation
- Ability to travel periodically
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in transactions in different states a plus
- Strong academic credentials from a top tier US law school
- Experience selecting and managing outside counsel
- Highly confident, articulate, self-motivated, self-sufficient, and enthusiastic individual who is a team player
- Entrepreneurial mindset and focus on outcomes over output
