Job Summary
Counsel to support the General Counsel by managing the contracts team and other legal processes while advising business stakeholders. Oversee paralegals in preparing client engagement letters, master services agreements, responses to requests for proposals, subcontractor agreements, Kovel agreements, NDAs, conflict waivers, and other vendor/client-related agreements. Oversee subpoena compliance and court-related matters, ensure case information accuracy in the case management system, review leases for company premises, and manage intellectual property. Effectively manage outside counsel’s time/resources. Requires Juris Doctor with 3–7 years of experience, Bar admission in a US state or territory, and litigation experience. Preferred likely adds professional liability exposure; strong drafting/negotiation skills across client, vendor, and third-party agreements; ability to assess issues and advise on risks; detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills. Willingness to work occasional nights or weekends as client needs dictate. Flexible working arrangements including remote and hybrid opportunities offered. Location options include multiple California cities and other U.S. offices; compensation ranges from $133,000 to $180,000 depending on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree (JD)
- Bar admission in US
- 3 to 7 years of relevant attorney experience
- in-house or law firm experience
- experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts
- ability to manage client engagement letters, MSAs, NDAs, and vendor/client-related agreements
- experience with subpoenas and court-related matters
- lease review experience
- intellectual property management experience
- ability to coordinate outside counsel
- willingness to work nights or weekends as needed
