Job Summary
Counsel to provide in-house legal guidance focused on federal and state consumer finance laws in the automotive sector. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating consumer finance contracts, leases and forms; advising management and employees on regulatory compliance; collaborating with the compliance team; managing litigation and responding to consumer complaints; supporting regulatory examinations; developing policies and procedures; and coordinating with external counsel on disputes and regulatory inquiries. The role requires a solution-oriented team player who can work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment and contribute to risk mitigation while supporting business objectives. Hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from home two days a week.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to The Florida Bar or qualification as Authorized In-House Counsel
- 3-5 years of in-house or major law firm experience, preferably in consumer finance, consumer compliance, information security and privacy, and/or related practice areas
- Experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and review
- Litigation management experience is a plus
