Job Summary

Review, interpret, draft, and negotiate project documents including power purchase agreements and financing structures for utility-scale wind, solar, battery storage, and gas assets. Represent the company in acquisitions and dispositions while supervising outside counsel as necessary. Provide counsel on regulatory and legal issues identified by asset management, support litigation and dispute resolution processes, and work cross-functionally to guide projects through their lifecycle. Facilitate continuous improvements to contracting processes and tools while advising management on emerging opportunities in the energy industry.

Required Qualifications

  • JD and a strong academic record from an accredited law school
  • a license to practice law
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as an attorney at a law firm or with an in-house legal department
  • exposure to complex commercial or project finance matters
  • Experience advising clients with respect to project finance and development matters involving utility-scale wind, utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, and gas projects
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources
  • Ability to retain and review complex information and articulate conclusions, risk assessments, and associated recommendations
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality legal work with accuracy, attention to detail, and sound judgment
