Job Summary
Coordinate legal risk detection, identification, and mitigation while overseeing non-clinical compliance and risk management for WCGME and TWCCH. Develop remediation solutions for compliance gaps and oversee annual training programs covering HIPAA, HITECH, OSHA, and other regulatory areas. Ensure all protected health information requests are legally valid and maintain mechanisms to track and audit access to PHI. Administer incidents submitted through the SAFE Reporting system, collaborate on litigation matters, and champion transparent reporting of safe events to enhance quality improvement. Maintain current medical malpractice insurance coverage and provider licenses while monitoring advancements in information privacy laws.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree
- Member of the Pennsylvania Bar
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Some regional travel required
Desired Qualifications
- Buy in and experience working in the EOS® model
- An additional advanced degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field
- Healthcare experience in a law firm or in-house
- clinical experience
- 5-7 years preferred
- HIPAA Privacy Certification
- Compliance experience
- Proven track record of strong negotiation, communication, organizational and people management skills and the ability to influence, collaborate and build relationships
- Superb organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to motivate staff toward change
- Excellent skills in problem-solving and improvement, leading and coaching others, verbal and written communication
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Google platform
- Must be a team player who is responsible, reliable, task oriented and punctual
- Must be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with many changing priorities
- Must be professional and customer service oriented to deliver excellence
- Ability to work independently
