COTS Automation Engineer

Job Summary
Deploy, configure, and maintain Commercial Off-The-Shelf applications and tools across multiple production environments supporting the Nuclear Security Enterprise. Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities while troubleshooting production issues to minimize downtime. Research emerging technologies to recommend improvements in software deployment and management. Participate in Agile Scrum events including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Collaborate with system administrators and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions aligned with security policies. Provide high-touch user support for COTS applications and assist in migration efforts as needed. Create and maintain documentation for system configurations and procedures. Work onsite in the Albuquerque area three days a week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years or more of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
- Strong experience in Windows and Linux system administration
- Familiarity and ability to build expertise with automation tools like Ansible
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Willing to be on-site 3 days a week to meet mission deliverables and service level agreement requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting software systems within national security or government environments
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements
- Experience with Cameo MagicDraw, GENESYS, DOORS Next
- Experience with COTS applications and their administration and deployment across various environments
- Knowledge of OpenShift deployment or cloud technologies
- Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as Jira
