Job Summary
Prepare and cook menu items accurately, efficiently, and consistently in a fast-paced environment while performing food prep work to ensure efficient cooking during service hours. Cook orders promptly as they come in, maintaining accuracy and consistency, and follow written recipes, production sheets, and verbal instructions. Manage inventory levels, communicate with management regarding supply needs, and handle special dietary requests including food allergies. Maintain high standards of quality control, cleanliness, and sanitation in accordance with health regulations, and assist with opening, closing, restocking, and cleaning duties as assigned. Work nights, weekends, holidays, and during large-scale events as required in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous experience as a cook, line cook, or kitchen team member in a high-volume food service environment
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods
- Valid food handler certification
- Ability to read and follow recipes, production sheets, and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during large-scale events as required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision
- Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and proper knife handling
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and safe food handling procedures (including temperature control and cross contamination prevention)
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation, including grills, fryers, ovens, and food preparation tools
- Familiarity with recipe execution, portion control, and food presentation standards
- Ability to handle special dietary requests to include food allergies and other accommodations
- Understanding health department regulations and workplace safety policies
