Job Summary
The COTA carries out Occupational Therapy treatment procedures as designed by the Occupational Therapist for specific patients/residents. Responsibilities include instructing patients in self-help methods, assisting with assessments of rehabilitation progress, reporting treatment responses, implementing therapeutic programs, documenting progress notes, and communicating with nursing staff to integrate the OT program into patients' daily care. Requires certification and completion of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Required Qualifications
- Occupational Therapy Assistant Program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Current NYS Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
