Job Summary
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel contract at a skilled nursing facility. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA will help patients regain daily living skills, implement individualized therapy plans, document progress, and provide direct patient care. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, and educating patients and families. Travel contract benefits include relocation assistance and housing support.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Virginia required to start the assignment
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility required
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required
- Ability to implement individualized therapy plans and provide direct patient care under supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Experience documenting patient progress and modifying treatment plans under OT guidance
- Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills required
- Ability to ensure patient safety during therapy sessions and provide patient/family education
